1 800 GET THIN, LLC is a company with dedication to helping people who suffer from obesity, and especially those who also suffer from health conditions related to obesity.

As a part of this mission, 1800 GET THIN launches campaigns with the purpose of educating the general public about the medically-accepted alternatives for people who live a continued obese lifestyle. Recent statistics show that in California about 20% of adults are obese. This number has doubled compared to just 20 years ago. 1800GET THIN believes that educating people about these alternatives is a step in inversing this upward trend.

If a patient is suffering from liver issues due to years of alcohol abuse, many health policies they are able to receive the treatment they need. Same goes for patients who, as an example, suffer from lung cancer due to years of smoking. 1800GETTHIN believes that just as any other acquired disease, obesity is a serious health problem. In addition many obese people also suffer from obesity-related comorbid conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension and sleep apnea. Although there is documented success in elimination of these health conditions with weight loss with LAP-BAND®, some insurance companies still refuse to treat them with LAP-BAND® surgery. 1800 GET THIN works with prospective LAP-BAND® patients to determine whether there are any possible obesity-related health benefits under their health plan.

Also, 1 800 GET THIN supports LAP-BAND® seminars that are presented by independent LAP-BAND® certified surgeons. In these seminars interested patients can have their medical history reviewed by an independent medical doctor and get their recommendation on whether this surgery would be the right step for them.
